Welcome to our creative art and well-being studio. We are a gentle, welcoming, come-as-you-are space to breathe and create. Adults navigating life’s transitions can find comfort here or simply rediscover the pure joy of creating in good company.
No artistic experience required.
Classes, Workshops, Community Studio Hours, Private Individual & Group Sessions, and Bespoke Services all Focused on the Process of Creative Expression.
Our Studio
Life can be hard and messy. We all carry things that weigh heavy on our hearts and minds. At Blooming Peace, our intentions are focused on having fun and the benefits of the creative process. Engaging in creative expression with others can inspire a greater awareness of hope and healing and keep us from feeling alone. Come celebrate the nature of being human and be nurtured in a safe and welcoming gathering space full of diverse mediums, ample supplies, and kindred spirits.
Our Location
We are happy to be in our new Glenside location and have a beautiful new sign in the front yard. The new dedicated, intentional space was once an antique shop, and we have retained and expanded upon its great vibes. New Experiences are being added to the website daily. Bespoke Services are still available in the studio and at various outreach sites. Plan to come explore creativity and connect with our community and yourself.
Our Founder’s Story
Through difficult life chapters and profound personal losses, I experienced a quiet, invisible burden—a “loss of self” where I disconnected from my own soul and emotions just to survive. Everything changed midlife when I returned to a language I first discovered as a lonely child: gathering treasures from the earth to make art. I also starting painting and collaging intuitively to release unidentifiable emotions, visually see them, safely feel them, and finally heal them.

DATE: MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16
TIME:6:00PM-9:00PM
FACILITATOR: BECKY GALLAGHER
CLASS SIZE: Limited to 8 participants
THEME: FALL
COST: $45
Kinusaiga is a contemplative Japanese art form with textiles. Fabric scraps are pressed into grooves on foam board to create painterly scenes—no sewing or experience required. This art form is suitable for all skill levels and focuses on upcycling, creativity, and personal expression. In this adult workshop, you’ll explore color, texture, and composition while working slowly and intentionally with fabric.
This class is welcoming to all skill levels and emphasizes mindfulness, sustainability, and creative exploration. Using upcycled fabrics, you’ll design and work on an 8”×8” Kinusaiga artwork inspired by fall, nature, or simple shapes.
All materials are provided, and guidance is offered step‑by‑step in a calm, supportive environment.
Kinusaiga is more than a textile technique—it is a reflection of Japanese cultural values and the philosophy of wabi-sabi. By transforming discarded fabrics into beautiful, meaningful art, Kinusaiga invites us to appreciate imperfection, resourcefulness, and the natural flow of life.
Outcome
By the end of the class, participants will have a finished Kinusaiga artwork, an appreciation for Japanese textile arts, and the skills to continue to explore this technique at home.
Please register by 11/14. If you have missed the deadline, please contact us to see if space is available. Space is limited, so early sign up is recommended. Should class become full, contact us via the website.

Come learn the fun and messy techniques behind creating unique paintings with fluid acrylics. (NOTE: We recommend that you attend Fluid Acrylics—Intro 1 before taking the Intro 2 class). We will continue the same recipe used in the Intro 1 class.
In this class we will use two different swiping techniques to achieve different effects in our paintings. Every fluid acrylic painting is one of a kind -- it is impossible to create the same painting twice!
Please note that you will not walk out the door with your paintings the day of the workshop; because of the amount of water used in fluid acrylic recipes, the paintings must dry for three to five days before they can be transported. Fluid art is inherently messy, so wear clothing you won't mourn if you get paint on it!

The week is done, the leaves are falling, and the evening is yours. Join us for a calm, cozy pause the week before Thanksgiving: an hour of gentle, restorative yoga, followed by apple cider or herbal tea, light bites, and unhurried creative time alongside good company.
First hour | Restorative Yoga
We will start with a slow, supportive practice of stillness, breath, and gentle movement, informed by TCTSY (Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga), focusing on internal awareness rather than external performance. Movement will be offered with a mat-based practice in mind, but you're always welcome to adapt it in a chair or in any way that feels right for you. You are the expert of your own body, so everything offered is an invitation. There are no physical hands-on adjustments and nothing to get right. No yoga experience needed.
Second hour | Light bites, Community, & Art-Making
We will share seasonal snacks and community connection as we shift into open, informal creating. Feel free to bring a project you're already working on (knitting, sketching, journaling, anything!) or explore our studio supplies. All art supplies are provided, and no artistic skill is required.
As always, we care about the process, not the outcome. The facilitator is happy to offer guidance if you would like it, and skill-sharing is welcome, too.
What to wear and bring
Wear comfortable clothes you can fully relax in. Mats, light cushions, and chairs are available, but you're welcome to bring your own mat, supports, or a favorite blanket or cozy layer for extra comfort.
New to us?
After you register, our facilitator will give you a call for a brief conversation about the movement portion of the evening. It's a chance to ask questions and share anything that would help you feel comfortable.
Come as you are. Leave a little softer. .

#2: If you prefer to pay by cash or check at the door, send us an email via the CONTACT tab to register and note that you will be using this payment choice. You may use this alternative for limited-budget sliding scale needs, set-price payments, and/or rounding up/pay-it-forward contributions to our Community Impact Scholarship which helps make our events accessible to all.
