The Story Behind Blooming Peace

Like many organizations, Blooming Peace has a family history intertwined into its reason for existence.

Our angel on the other side, Daune's younger daughter and the Warrior Princess of Blooming Peace, is the inspiration for whom this endeavor is named.
She passed away in 2012 at the age of 18 after a 2 1/2 year battle with a rare blood cancer. Daune’s older earth-angel daughter is the Queen of Living (her mom's otherwise unfilled) Dreams. Her emotional support, contagious enthusiasm, and quest for creating life experiences reflect the Blooming Peace intention.
Nearly a half decade before her younger daughter's diagnosis, with her older daughter approaching high school graduation, Daune was anticipating the feelings related to empty nest syndrome. She rekindled her interest in art as a hobby, recapturing the joy of play and a piece of her lost self that took a different career path in college. The recreational activity quickly went from minor avocation to a potential new vocation of creative wellness. While facilitating an art as therapy program, as a volunteer for people who live below the poverty line, Daune found herself crashing head first into a difficult divorce situation, wreaking havoc on every aspect of her life as she knew it. Little did she know at the time, the seedlings of “keeping everything in perspective” she was nurturing, would grow into Blooming Peace.

A curated, restorative art and creative practice that supports, inspires, and empowers individuals to detach from the story and instead allow the narrative to provide a sense of mindful and meaningful unity and purpose.
