If meditation or exercise are not accessible to you but you want the similar benefits of decreased stress or depression and increased focused attention or self-care support, then this might be a fun alternative for you. In these 1 ½ hour weekly classes we combine mindful awareness (Mindful-Based Stress Reduction) principles with exploring creative techniques such as collage, painting or writing, to learn to stay present, manage difficult feelings, and find balance in a non-judgmental space for connection, self-loving insight, and reflection.
Making something without judgement or attachment to the outcome helps us build up the courage to be present and open while welcoming the unexpected because sometimes it is just hard being human. Classes are small, so writing or art-making prompts and activities can be geared to the participants and their preferences. No experience necessary. All supplies provided.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not a substitute for therapy, so please reach out to a therapist or medical provider if you are experiencing ongoing mental health challenges.
*If this class is of interest to you but the time doesn’t fit into your schedule, please contact us via our website. Private individual sessions are available.
In the event of bad weather, class will be cancelled and a make-up day will be scheduled.
Deadline to register is 2/23.
