DATE: Saturday, February 15, 2025
TIME: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
CO-FACILITATORS: Anna Murphey and Daune Marie
In this interactive three-hour workshop, we will discover how to honor our grief by creating uniquely personal shadowboxes. Using a variety of found objects and art materials, such as photographs, handwritten or printed materials, paint, fabric, and natural objects, you will create a one-of-a-kind shadowbox that honors a significant loss or life transition. This could include the death of a loved one, or other changes/losses such as loss of a home, career, or relationship, a change in health status, or even a shift in identity.
During our time together, we will incorporate opportunities to reflect on our grief through sharing poems, songs, and supportive conversation. Participants will be invited to respond to prompts and share with the group as you wish (all sharing is invitational and not required). Opportunities to share and reflect will be interwoven with ample time to design and create your shadowbox in the spacious art studio.
Please feel free to bring copies of special photographs or objects that you may want to include in your piece (optional). All necessary art materials for creating shadowboxes will be provided and are included in the cost. No special background or skills are required for this workshop – your life experience and a willing & open heart are all you need! Together, we will co-create a supportive and inspiring space to honor our stories and celebrate who we are becoming.
Deadline to register extended to 2/12/25. If you’re interest and missed the deadline, please contact us to see if any spots remain.
