Introduction to Papercutting
DATE: Monday, 3/24
TIME: 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM
FACILITATOR: Mindy Schapiro
Papercutting is an ancient art form with original papercuts dating back to the 6th century in China. Since that time, artisans have used paper, scissors and knives to create objects both ornamental and functional. Perhaps you made a snow flake in grade school or have seen silhouettes. These are forms of papercutting.
This workshop is perfect for those comfortable with art as well as the novice. We will learn to cut a bird, perfect for welcoming spring. An additional $10 supply fee is payable to the instructor.
Mindy Shapiro, MA, is a papercutting, Zentangle® and book artist whose groundbreaking creativity, intricate designs and use of color distinguish her as an artist. View Mindy’s work at www.mindyshapiro.com
In the event of bad weather, a class make-up day will be scheduled.
Deadline to register is 3/23. If you have missed the deadline, please contact us to see if space is available.
